Avocet Lodge - Luxury Cottage In Norfolk

A fabulous contemporary cedar lodge with panoramic countryside and coastal views. The ultimate romantic bolt hole for two or a peaceful and luxurious escape for one. Over the winter months wonder at the sight and haunting sound of skeins of pink footed geese as they fly overhead and watch spellbinding seabird murmurations – all from the comfort of this superb lodge.

Constructed in 2020 and being one of just two Brickley Wood Lodges (neighbouring Ingol Lodge sleeps four) set high on the hill above the small village of Ingoldisthorpe. With beautiful boutique-style luxurious interiors and high end fixtures and fittings, you really will want for nothing – every little detail has been thought of to ensure you have the finest holiday. Just shake off your shoes, turn on the coffee machine, take a seat, relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings and simply take in the landscape above and below. The open-plan living area is spacious and light-filled with a smart fitted kitchen at the back of the room that overlooks the dining and sitting areas where there’s a widescreen television to entertain, should you ever get tired of the endless view. From here double french doors lead out to an outdoor deck – this part of the North Norfolk coast unusually faces West and is the ideal place to watch as the sun sets on the Wash in its glorious technicolour. And, oh my goodness, the bedroom, dressing room and en-suite – sumptuous is the word, rather decadent and actually very seductive too… dream on!

About the area

The village of Ingoldisthorpe is 9 miles north of King’s Lynn and 7 miles south of Hunstanton. The village is mid way between Snettisham and Dersingham, both within a mile walking distance from Ingoldisthorpe. Dersingham has a post office and both villages benefit from having a good range of shops and country pubs.

A very reliable bus route runs through the village towards both King's Lynn and Hunstanton where you can continue your journey on the Coast Hopper.

Ingoldisthorpe has an impressive church, St Michael’s and All Angels, which was almost entirely re-built in the 14th century and then subject to a comprehensive restoration programme in the mid19th century. It is particularly notable for its stunning collection of late 19th and early 20th century glass.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, yet easily accessible to many parts of West Norfolk, Ingoldisthorpe is also situated on the National Cycle Route 1.

The village is also ideally situated for visiting nearby attractions including Sandringham House and the beautiful Sandringham Estate, Snettisham Park and Norfolk Lavender as well as the beaches at Heacham and Hunstanton.
