About the area

The Watatunga wildlife reserve has a new approach to protecting the earth's last populations of endangered deer and antelope. This unique reserve is situated in 170 wonderful acres of west Norfolk wetland and it is dedicated to the protection of threatened birds and ungulates. The deer and antelope species mix with ducks, pheasants and the usual Norfolk wildlife and if you're luck you will see the majestic great bustard. There is a hide and walkways to explore the reserve and you can also take a buggy wildlife tour where you can see the wildlife up close.

Step inside Wataunga and you'll feel your part of conservation today and supporting the protection of the wildlife tomorrow. No two visits are the same as the seasons bring new life to the reserve. As a visitor you can observe the deer and antelope grazing on the rich grasslands and at the lake. Over twenty different ungulate species live at Watatunga and the guides who run the reserve will show you the best places to see the wildlife and explain their habitats and their homelands whilst you enjoy the views from your golf buggy.
