Upon arriving at Park Cottage, you are greeted by the quaint thatched roof and beautiful walled garden which invite you in to this traditional two bedroomed property that sits proudly in the village of Baslow.

Dating back to the 17th Century, you can expect to be surrounded by original wooden beams and exposed stonework. This small yet spacious two bedroomed cottage has everything you could need for a Rural Retreat.

The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing home-made meals together and the well placed dining area is ideal for watching wildlife explore the walled gardens of Park Cottage.

The cosy sitting room boasts beautiful exposed beams set above comfortable seating for all, with a cosy armchair perfectly placed for reading a book in front of the wood burning stove. The ground floor bedroom also boasts exposed wooden beams and is a welcoming haven of rest and relaxation.

Moving up the steep stairs, you will find the main bedroom hidden within the eaves of the property, with the artisanal king-size bed being the main focus of the room.

At certain times of the year, guests have unlimited access to Chatsworth House and Gardens with free car parking. Conditions do apply, please see below for more information. In addition, guests can pre-book a slot for the Chatsworth Health Club, where facilities include use of the gym, swimming pool and tennis court (additional charges apply).

Park Cottage is located near the Chatsworth Estate where you can explore all that the area has to offer. This includes the glorious stately home.

Chatsworth is home to the Devonshire family, and has been passed down through 16 generations. It is renowned for the quality of its art, hospitality and landscape; having evolved through the Centuries to reflect the different tastes, passions and interests of all generations. Containing art that spans through 4000 years and over 25 rooms to explore, there is plenty to see.

Chatsworth gardens are famous for their prosperous history, waterworks and sculptures. The 105 acre garden retains many early features, including the Canal Pond, Cascade, 1st Dukes Greenhouse, and part of the Arcadia project the remodelled rock garden. The several water features are gravity fed and reliant on water levels in the lakes above Chatsworth.

The Chatsworth landscape has been influenced by some of the greatest artists and designers of their time, and today contains historic and modern architecture. It is also home to red and fallow deer, sheep, cattle and many other wild animals. Stand Wood contains a diversity of trees and wildlife; there are many paths throughout for you to discover and explore.

For fresh quality produce from the estate, visit the farm shop. Including a butchers and fresh fish counters, fresh fruit and vegetables, well-stocked delicatessen, patisserie, and an excellent range of wines, beers and soft drinks. Enjoy seasonal dishes within a beautiful space overlooking stunning views of the estate at the farm shop.

The farmyard and playground on the estate has been a favourite day out for children of all ages since opening in 1973. You will meet all their friendly animals from pigs and horses, to mischievous goats and guinea pigs. The farmyard is also home to a number of rare breeds including Suffolk Punch horses, Shire horses, Albion cattle and much more!

There are many restaurants and café's on the estate. Carriage House Café is perfect for families, serving freshly made dishes using local and seasonal ingredients. The Flying Childers provides light hot lunches and seasonal winter warmers accompanied with fine wines and craft ales all within the setting of magnificent 18th Century stables. Cavendish prepare a seasonal menu showcasing the best of the estate and local produce; indulge in one of their superb afternoon teas.
