Ambleside offers an abundance of shops, restaurants, bistros (including two fully vegetarian venues), cinema, cafes, plus its own indoor climbing wall.

Walkers and cyclists can open the front door onto relaxing and challenging routes to explore the Fells and beyond, leaving the car behind with private parking at the door.
Golf, water sports, horse riding and other outdoor pursuits are all within easy reach, as well as the tranquil Langdale Valley, beautiful Grasmere and Rydal Water. Or walk a few minutes from the door to Watershead and catch a ferry across the Lake to Bowness, Newby Bridge or The Aquarium of The Lakes.
