Castle Combe, once described by Spielberg as looking as if it were “designed by Hollywood” and Lacock with its Abbey – both villages are so idyllically unspoilt that they are used frequently for filming costume dramas – Tetbury and Malmesbury are close by, with beautiful architecture and packed with gorgeous antique shops and places to eat. Stately homes with famous gardens and arboretums abound and a little further Stonehenge – one of the most important archaeological attractions in the World. There’s even the famous safari park at Longleat. Beautiful walks and World class golf courses, this area has so much to offer for the perfect holiday in the English countryside.
