The property is located within ancient woodland in Beckley, East Sussex. Bounded by Woodland Trust land on one boundary and Forestry Commission woodland on the others. Wild Boar, Muntjac deer, bats and a plethora of birdlife are to be found within the surrounding woodland.
The house has a spacious open-plan living/kitchen/dining space and utility room on the upper level that opens to two generous outdoor dining terraces. Three double bedrooms, accommodating up to six people, are located on the lower ground floor together with two large fully tiled family size bathrooms, one en-suite to the main double bedroom.
With oak flooring throughout, the finishes are clean and light to maximise the use of natural light.
The house is highly insulated and utilises a low energy Air Source Heat Pump to provide hot water and under-floor heating throughout. There is also a wood-burning stove as backup for winter use.
Please Note: Access to the property for the last 100 meters is via an ‘Ancient Highway’ which is an unmade road.
The house is approximately 5 miles inland from the Cinque Port town of Rye.
The historic hilltop town of Rye nearby is a top tourist attraction with its winding cobbled streets, medieval buildings and rich mix of quirky shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants.
