The bedrooms and bathroom are at street level and the living areas upstairs. From the open-plan lounge (c. 18′) and balcony there are wonderful views over the rooftops (complete with seagulls) and St Clement’s Isle, and across Mount’s Bay to St Michael’s Mount. The spacious kitchen/dining room (c. 20′) has a traditional Cornish range and a well-equipped wood-fitted kitchen. The table seats 8. Our studio annexe, “The Dungeon”, is at a lower level on Keigwin Square. Double futon plus shower.
Mousehole is set around a tidal harbour and small sandy beaches, once home to the traditional pilchard-fishing fleet. The harbour offers safe swimming at high tide and beachcombing at low tide. At the nearby rockpools there is a natural sea-bathing pool for children. Full of winding paths and picturesque cottages, Mousehole is now largely a conservation area.
Some of Cornwall’s loveliest spots are in easy reach of Mousehole – hidden coves like Penberth ; the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno ; Land’s End and the wild north-west coast ; St Ives with its Cornwall Tate Gallery; Marazion with its artists’ galleries and the causeway to St Michael’s Mount.
