Late Availability

Spoil yourself & your loved one with 3 treats for a luxury autumn break at Visit England’s  Self-Catering Property of the Year 2017 … so best in England 2017 and best in Yorkshire 2016.

As autumn starts to kick in and the days become shorter, the air crisper and a scarf soon becomes part of your daily attire, it’s easy to think that the holiday season is behind you. But why not embrace all that is splendid about autumn – admiring nature’s colour scheme. Here are 3 offers to treat yourself to a Yorkshire Dales autumn break.

  • Bubbles & more bubbles! after a refreshing walk, soak in a hot bubble bath. Don’t forget the White Company toiletries, fluffy towels & luxurious bathrobes that we provide, along with more bubbles … a bottle of quality champagne
  • Personally recommended eateries – autumn is a delight for foodies. The Dales lamb is at its best in autumn. Ask our superb local butcher why. Appreciate a hearty meal at a pub with a roaring open fire.
  • Reserve a local eatery and we will take you there (and back!) with our compliments so you can both have a drink (or two!)

Go on, spoil yourself and your loved one with a special autumn break! You both deserve it!

“It is the most beautiful village in England”, James Herriot said of West Burton, Wensleydale.

In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, West Burton in Wensleydale & Newbiggin in Bishopdale are largely untouched by the passage of time. Both with a waterfall and no through road, they offer the opportunity for couples, friends and families to enjoy an idyllic break all year round.

With mesmerising garden views and walks from the doorstep, the cottages offer luxury accommodation with detailed touches and additional customer services, including recommendations for activities, places to see, visit and eat.

Sunday Times recommended Cottage in the Dales as one of their ‘top 50 cool cottages in Britain and Ireland’ in 2009 & 2011.

The Cottages

The Five Star Gold Grade II listed Inglenook Cottage in West Burton can accommodate up to 4 people, plus cot. The newly renovated Five Star Gold Grade II listed The Byre in neighbouring Newbiggin accommodates 2 people, plus cot, very spaciously.

The cottages are perfect for the discerning visitor requiring both quality and luxury in a rural idyll where original charm and character in these stylish period properties are carefully blended with the facilities of modern life. Each cottage has its own unique appeal. Sympathetically restored, they are beautifully furnished to an extremely high standard with quality furnishings and attention to detail, offering stylish and comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation all year round. With thick stone walls, original beams, open fires and private gardens, both cottages have panoramic views over the unspoilt rural landscape. A holiday here is a pleasure at any time of the year.

Inglenook Cottage exudes charm including mullioned windows, open fire, exposed beams and bespoke kitchen. Antique furniture, crisp bedlinen and super-king sleigh bed create a perfect ambience. Private parking leads to a traditional dry stone walled patio garden.

The Byre is a spacious stunning newly converted 18th century barn – the perfect luxury escape for couples to enjoy a romantic hideaway or just spend some quality time together. With luxurious touches throughout – bespoke kitchen, double-ended bath, antique furniture, inglenook fireplace and feature window. The Byre overlooks the half acre garden to the Bishopdale views beyond.
