Individual Suffolk Barn; Sleep 2
The Granary Barn is 300 years old and was originally a grain storage barn, hence the name. It is on two storeys, with a massive feature window to the bedroom, with view across the adjoining farmland. You enter through a stable door into an open-plan lounge, dining, kitchen area. The galley kitchen is fully fitted with plenty of cupboards, lovely thick oak worktops, a belfast sink and electric cooker.
The ground floor has beautiful slate flooring throughout and more beams than you could ever imagine as we stripped this barn right back to its frame when we converted it in 2010.
The bedroom has a cream, iron ‘bedknobs & broomsticks’ double bed, high ceilings and an en-suite shower room as well as the superb oak feature window we mentioned above. It is decorated very much in country farmhouse style, with lots of antique touches and attention to detail. The shower room is luxuriously fitted with a quadrant shower cubicle and ‘watering can’ shower head and we provide all your towels, shampoo, shower gel and luxury liquid hand soap.
The barn has underfloor heating throughout and a cosy log-burner too.
The large fully enclosed garden has a coal BBQ on the patio.
You get a delicious Suffolk Breakfast Basket with each stay, including eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, bread & butter, milk, cookies and fruit, as well as jam and marmalade made in the village. Dogs even get a Bonio too, so no-one is left out.
We have a reputation for combining luxury for humans, with a very dog-friendly approach.
The Granary is the flagship of our 6 beautiful Suffolk Barns, aimed at the romantic countryside getaway. All the barns have a cosy double bedroom, wood-burning stove and all the modern comforts you could need, combined with all the period features you could want for your holiday or mini-break.
Three of our barns have luxurious four-person Hot Tubs for the ultimate in relaxation. Deben Barn has one on the patio. Gipping and Orwell Barns have theirs under cover in an open-fronted ‘Garden Room’.
Travel cots available as we take toddlers in all the cottages.
They’re all dog-friendly too!
We welcome larger groups as we can sleeps up to 19, e.g If you have a party of 8, four couples, could take a barn each. Effectively we sleep 2 to 7 to any combination up to 19

“Our stay at Wood Farm Barns was delightful, from the underfloor heating to the breakfast hamper. Overall a very comfortable, cosy and wonderful stay. The garden is brilliant for the dogs, combined with the local walks, provide excellent facilities”
“Thanks Carl for another lovely week. This a haven of tranquillity and calm in a mad, mad world and a wonderfully healing experience for the aged and infirm. I know the whole party have enjoyed their stay immensely”
“We went on some lovely walks down the lane with our granddaughter. Thanks for another great stay – we will be back”
“The Granary was immaculately presented and the breakfast hamper was welcome together with a dog treat! There are some great walks nearby and our favourite is across the fields from the Church. Needham Lake is well worth a visit and followed the river path for a few miles. Southwold and Dunwich are both great places to visit on the coast. The Crown at Stowupland was a great place to eat. We had a lovely relaxing time at the Granary”
“A lovely break at The Granary. Beautiful barn with such a cosy homely feel. The underfloor heating is lovely especially with the cold weather. The welcome hamper was lovely, in particular the cookies! Thank you for this beautiful retreat!”
“Only here for two nights but how lovely to stay somewhere with the dog that is so clean and comfortable. The Crown was very friendly and nice food. The Woolpack at Debenham is only small but very friendly and accepts dogs”
