Launceston Farm, Dorset: Sumptuous self-catering for up to 16 guests with indoor swimming pool.

Launceston Farm is a stunning rural retreat just 2.5 hours from London, sleeping  up to 16 in three properties all cozied around the biomass heated indoor swimming pool and sauna.

Perfect for large groups, celebrations and parties,  the Farmhouse sleeps 12 in six double ensuite bedrooms – four of which are available as twins – whilst the two cottages each sleep two.  For multigenerational groups or large parties including couples that might want their own space, Launceston Farm is ideal as it offers flexibility whilst being able to accommodate everyone to come together, either for dinner in the glorious Old Cart Shed or for a game of cricket on the lawn.

Sarah the owner and farmer, has created a stylish getaway with sumptuous touches; open log fires, huge Buddha bags in the family sitting room, freshly baked bread and cakes in the welcome hamper.  There are all the modcons you would expect including Wifi, Sonos sound system, Smart Tvs in the sitting rooms and all eight bedrooms.  Sarah being a chef and caterer, has stocked the kitchen to such a high standard that no budding chef will be disappointed.

If you don’t feel like cooking, catering can be arranged for you from farm-sourced English breakfasts to rustic evening meals, kids teas and heat and eat suppers.  For a special occasion Launceston Farm work with a team of excellent local caterers who will tailor make a menu to suit your event.  If you really don’t feel like doing anything, the award winning family and dog friendly village pub, The Langton Arms, is a five minute walk and it’s open all day…

Launceston Farmhouse is available to rent exclusively on a self-catering basis for week long stays and short breaks of 3 or 4 nights.

Children & Pets:

Children and pets are very welcome.  Up to two dogs are allowed per property at a charge of £25.00 per stay.  Launceston Farm provides a range of baby and toddler equipment including high chairs, travel cots, stair gates, baby monitor and plastic table ware.  The ere is a dedicated toddler play area in the Orchard as well as a wide selection of garden games and tree swings for older kids.   For rainy afternoons there is plenty of DVDs, books, games and a Wi console. And of course there is the indoor pool!

Facilities:

12m Indoor heated swimming pool and sauna. Extensive gardens and play orchard with enclosed children’s play area including sand pit, mud kitchen, tree swings and a willow Tipi. Family room with games, toys and books. Ample on-site parking.

Mod cons:

Smart TV and DVD player in family room, selection of DVDS and WI-console. Smart TVs in all sitting rooms. 32” Smart TVs in all six bedrooms. Wifi internet throughout. Sonos sound system.

Arrival & Departure day:

Arrival Fridays from 4pm for seven night bookings. Check out is at 10am. For shorter 3/4 night breaks arrival day is Friday or Monday.

The local area:

The Farm is 40 minutes drive from Poole Harbour, the gateway to the  Jurassic Coast and 30 minutes drive from the New Forest.  Walking and cycling are a must during your stay.  Bring boots or wellies to explore the farm and the surrounding Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  National Trust properties Kingston Lacey House & Gardens, Studland Bay and Nature Reserve, Stour Head and Corfe Castle are all within easy reach as are Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge.  Families will love Longleat Safari Park, Monkey World and The Tank Museum.

Other information & Cottages:

In off peak periods, the Farmhouse and the Bothy are available to rent separately. In mid and peak season they are rented out as one property sleeping a total of 14. The Bothy has its own private outdoor courtyard with access to the main farmhouse garden. Flint, sleeping 2, is available to rent separately all year and has its own private walled courtyard as well as exclusive access to the walled ornamental courtyard garden.
