This luxury two bedroom cottage in Yorkshire, originally an 18th century farm worker’s cottage, oozes charm and character. Original features blend seamlessly with modern design including a log burner and roll top bath. While the private, south facing cottage garden provides the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring.

Great Habton is also home to a successful village cricket team, race horse trainer Tim Easterby’s stables and The Grapes Inn, where you will find friendly locals and delicious home-cooked, restaurant-quality food.

Living and Eating
The family room is an open sociable space in which to dine or relax, watch tv or chat, while dinner is being prepared in the galley kitchen. From this family room patio doors lead onto the stunning garden patio.
A separate lounge, with original ceiling beams, a log burner and squishy sofas is the perfect space in which to unwind. The garden’s in evidence again through the patio doors.
To Bath and Bed
Upstairs is no less impressive with a luxurious bathroom including a free-standing bath and separate shower cubicle. Light the candle, lie in the bath and gaze at the stars above through the window in the roof. The twin bedroom, well stocked with books and toys to keep junior guests happy, is a haven for adults too. There’s no better place to read a book from but the window seat in here. Just don’t get distracted by the view!
The spacious master bedroom is a delight too and a real retreat at the end of a busy day. Black out curtains and a deep, comfy mattress ensure a good night’s sleep.
The professionally landscaped garden at Spring Cottage is truly delightful. A patio, perfect for al fresco dining, leads onto two circular lawns, surrounded by attractive herbacious borders. Go through the rose arch and you’ll see the vegetable patch (help yourself!) and swings. Pick some herbs for cooking or mint for your Pimms and lemonde perhaps? The patio’s a real sun-trap; where better to unwind and plan tomorrow’s adventure? Into the evening, light the fire pit, top up your glass and spot the bats at nightfall.
You’ll see for yourself the attention to detail throughout and the cottage feels like a much loved home from home.
Spring Cottage has a list of baby equipment to use free of charge.
On your doorstep: (or a very short ride) – Castle Howard and the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Flamingo Land Theme Park, North York Moors Steam Railway in Pickering.
