Stable Cottages is a beautiful countryside holiday complex near Rochester with a heated indoor swimming pool just an hour outside of London.
These purpose-built cottages are delightfully located in the picturesque hamlet of St. Mary Hoo and surrounded by 20 acres of beautiful Kent countryside. The complex offers guests fantastic facilities as well as and panoramic views across the Thames Estuary and an abundance of wildlife, the location offers the setting for some of the best walks in Kent.
All six cottages are very well equipped to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Inside the charming oak beamed cottages offer comfortable open plan living/dining areas and stylish recently-renovated kitchens and bathrooms equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay. Since opening, Stable Cottages is proud to have always received a 4 star grading by Visit England.
Two Bedroom Cottages – four cosy two-bedroom cottages each sleep up to five people. They comprise of one bedroom with a double bed and another containing bunk beds (either single or double) plus an additional single bed.
Four Bedroomed Cottages – As well the two bedroom cottages there are also 2 x four bedroom cottages here at Stable Cottages. These are a more spacious option for larger families or groups and can accommodate up to 8 people in each (plus two infants). They comprise of four bedrooms and three bathrooms in total
The fantastic on-site amenities are one of the main reasons that many of guests return to Stables holiday cottages year after year. During your stay at Stable Cottages, you’ll have access to a heated indoor swimming pool and steam room, mini gym, games room, outdoor play area, a 10 acre field with football goals, utility rooms and secure private parking.

Set in 20 acres of farmland, Stable Cottages is the perfect base from which to explore the countryside of the Hoo Peninsula. The Thames Estuary is one of the UK’s richest wildlife habitats. Great walks include the Thames sea wall and Saxon Shore Way. The High Halstow National Nature Reserve and Northward Hill, which are within reach on foot, are particularly beautiful.
As well as the Fenn Bell pub at the end of the road (where there is also a small zoo and a lovely miniature railway), there are plenty of great places to eat in the local area.
Rochester – With it’s beautiful cathedral and Medieval castle and gardens, Rochester is a must on the list of things to do while you are in Medway. The high street is filled with unique and independent boutiques, antique shops and restaurants.
