A little History on Swiers Farm
The Farm became redundant in 1991 when Carsington Water was completed the farmland now lies beneath Carsington Water, although a couple of acres have been kept with the Farm and provide an area for ball games, picnics, or perhaps a quiet moment to absorb the beauty of the hill to the rear of the property.
Our family moved to the Farm in 1992 with our four small children. We have been slowly restoring ever since. The House have been a delight to work with, since they have so much charm and character. Each year we do a little more, perhaps extending the gardens, perhaps upgrading kitchen. We are more than a little pleased with the end results. We think our Farm house is just lovely! Beamed ceilings, traditional doors, exposed stone work, flagged floors, simple decor and lovely rugs along with comfortable settees and mellow furniture, lovely pictures and other traditional features combine to create a warm and cosy atmosphere home from home.
The house sits opposite the Village green and adjacent to the church & churchyard of St Margarets. The lush backdrop is Carsington pastures where sheep & cattle graze.
Walks in all directions from the house, just 5 Minutes to Carsington Water where there are plenty of activities; Sailing, windsurfing, raft building bike hire and a climbing wall.
The Village Pub, The Miners Arms, is just a short stroll and Serves Good Food and Ale. The Pub Does Have a Beer Garden and Boules Pitch. Child friendly. Need to book for dinner for large groups 01629 540207
