The Shelter Stone –Large holiday property in Aviemore, Scotland.

The Shelter Stone is a family friendly, traditional stone-built house, sleeping up to 13 across 6 bedrooms. The dramatic landscape of the Cairngorms National Park surrounds Aviemore, which is easily accessible by road and rail, making it ideally situated for winter and summer breaks, skiing holidays, walking weekends, golf trips and whisky distillery tours.

The House

The Shelter Stone is perfect for groups of family and friends, sleeping up to 13 people.  There is a family bedroom on the ground floor (1 double & 1 single), with a further three double and two twin bedrooms on the 1st floor. Three bedrooms have en-suite facilities, with a further family bathroom and separate toilet located upstairs.

There is plenty of communal space for relaxing.  A large sitting room with open fire, dining room and breakfasting kitchen.  There is also a separate utility room with washing machine.  To the rear of the house is a private garden with outdoor seating and external storage for your outdoor equipment (bikes, skis etc).

The Area

Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park are a great location for family & outdoor holidays.  Activities nearby include hill walking, skiing, mountain biking, watersports, horse riding, golf, karting, fishing, quad biking and much more.

For those who wish to take things a bit slower, there are many lovely woodland and loch side walks just a short drive away. There are many great family friendly day trips nearby including the Highland Wildlife Park, Landmark Forest Adventure Park and the Strathspey Steam Railway. For the adults, there are also tours of the nearby Cairngorm Brewery and local distilleries.

Additional parking is also available to the rear of the property

Behind the house you can also find secure garage storage for your sporting equipment, including bikes and skis

This house has everything you could ask for in a holiday rental in Aviemore, space (6 bedrooms), position (close all amenities), parking (6 cars) this house has it all – from good internet, to great heating system, all you need is your suitcase, everything else is provided. 

Beautiful old property with modern interior and lots of space to relax.  Great for family groups, with lovely dining room and cosy open fire in the lounge.  Fantastic location 5 mins walk from the centre of Aviemore.  We will be back! 

We stayed here with family to celebrate birthdays last weekend.  We had a great time there was 10 adults and 5 kids and we had plenty room.  We didn’t feel cramped.  The house was in a great location and once parked up we didn’t really have to move all weekend.  I would highly recommend The Shelter Stone!
