Ardlarach Lodge - Coastal Holiday Cottage In The Inner Hebrides

Despite its remote setting, at Blackmill Bay on the Isle of Luing, Ardlarach Lodge offers all the home comforts any discerning traveller would expect and is perfect for families. Surrounded by simply spectacular views westwards towards the isles of Scarba and Lunga, Ardlarach Lodge was a former head shepherd’s house which has been sympathetically restored to offer elegant and stylish accommodation. The house really does maximise the panoramic views and whether you are inside or outside, the views are everywhere. On entering the property, the visitor is greeted by a delightful welcome gift and a light and airy sitting room with loads of attractive seating ideally positioned with the woodburning stove and feature windows taking centre stage. The aptly named sun room has attractive window seating to provide a comfy spot to take in those gorgeous views and is the perfect spot for taking a break and absorbing the gorgeous vistas of the island and beyond. Step into the glorious contemporary kitchen which has everything you could possibly need to rustle up a delicious meal for loved ones and the rustic dining table provides an inviting space to enjoy long, leisurely meals. A real feature of the property is the accessible nature of the wet room and two downstairs bedrooms. A stunning staircase leads majestically upstairs from the sitting room where there are a further two bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom. A stylish family bathroom completes the first-floor accommodation. The outside space has been beautifully maintained to offer guests a wonderful opportunity to take in the sublime views with immaculate lawns giving a safe area for children to play and an attractive patio area with garden furniture ideal for the grown-ups to chill out and enjoy some holiday time alfresco taking in the incredible views. It might only be six miles long and two miles wide, but Luing has plenty to offer including some fabulous walking treks and trails. Pay a visit to the quaint village of Cullipool steeped in history with its historic white cottages and visitor centre, take a boat trip to one of the adjoining islands, hire a bike or check out the golf course on the nearby Isle of Seil and just a short drive away is the bustling town of Oban. A regular ferry operated by Argyll and Bute council runs to the island and it is a few hours drive from Glasgow airport and a short drive from Oban. For a unique holiday in a simply stunning setting and offering elegant accommodation, Ardlarach Lodge really does have it all.
