Belchamp Hall Mill - Romantic Luxury Cottage In Suffolk

This romantic mill has been converted to a wonderful, cosy place to escape to. Much of the character of the mill has been retained during the conversion and there are beautiful brick floors downstairs and lots of woodwork throughout. The upper floor has glorious views over the surrounding countryside and mill pond, which is a haven for wildlife. The spacious open-plan living space has a kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is well-equipped for whipping up breakfast or dinner for two, and the sitting area features a contemporary wood burning stove, filling the room with warmth and cosiness.

Down the oak and glass, central staircase is an open-plan bedroom suite featuring a dressing room with sitting area which opens through the archway into the spacious shower room and large, walk-in, rainfall shower. The generous bedroom boasts a super-king size bed and stable door leading directly out to the pond. The ground floor is warmed by luxurious underfloor heating.

Beyond the immediate vicinity of the Mill pond you are able to explore the rest of the estate of Belchamp Hall.

About the area

Belchamp Walter sits in a beautiful part of Suffolk close to both historic towns, areas of outstanding natural beauty and the coast. The Wool Towns of Sudbury, Lavenham and Long Melford are close by and worth exploring. The wool trade contributed to the wealth of the local merchants during the 15th Century and there are large numbers of timber framed houses which have survived from the period. Bury St Edmunds is slightly further afield but worth a visit. There are a number of arts venues including the Theatre and the Apex with an eclectic range of concerts, speakers and other performers to entertain. The Abbey Gardens have a changing display of plants and the town hosts a large Christmas market in early December.
