The charming sitting room boasts a second wood burning stove sitting within a feature stone inglenook fireplace. For less formal dining, the bright breakfast room has dining space for four guests and a door out to the garden. The accommodation further extends to a sunny conservatory with french doors opening out to the rear garden.

Upstairs, three light and airy bedrooms are tastefully decorated, over-looking the rolling countryside towards the village; the master king-size bedroom boasting a spacious en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath and separate walk-in shower; a second king-size bedroom and bathroom featuring the added luxury of a roll-top, claw-foot bath, also with shower; and finally the third double bedroom with stunning views across to the church and family bathroom.The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, making it ideal for families or a group of friends looking to explore the dramatic and simply breath-taking landscape of North Yorkshire.

The picturesque East Witton has a village pub, The Blue Lion, an 18th century inn, serving mouth-watering food and a range of hand-pulled local ales within enchanting candlelit surroundings.

Children aged five years and over are welcome. A baby 12 months and under is welcome in own travel cot.

Please be aware, due to the nature of the property, there are various steps and different levels on both floors.
Throughout the first floor a few rooms have low ceilings.
Barbecue provided, please leave the barbecue in the condition you would wish to find it. Thank you in advance.
Due to the rural area, the road in front of the cottage can at times have livestock being moved along it from the local farm.

Boasting many walks nearby, with none more spectacular than The Shawl offering sprawling views of the stunning dale below.

Chance Cottage is located near East Witton in Lower Wensleydale on the edge of Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Blue Lion is only a few minutes’ walk away offering a special dining experience.

Masham, around a 15 minute drive, famous for its breweries, Theakstons offering brewery tours, and Black Sheep visitor centre has an extensive bar and popular restaurant. For something a little different you can book a Gin experience, creating your very own Gin at The Spirit of Masham.

The bustling Market town of Leyburn around 10 minute drive away, has a good choice of independent shops, cafes and pubs. Campbell's, is a traditional family run store with a fine delicatessen and butchery counter, and said to be the finest wine store in the North.

A 30 minute drive North is Richmond, a thriving Market town, eateries a plenty, with its very own Castle. Richmond Castle, boasts spectacular views overlooking the fast flowing river Swale, The Georgian Theatre Royal, the oldest working theatre in its original form and The Green Howards Museum; the fascinating story of this distinguished regiment. Grab a bite to eat or watch a film at The Station Cinema.

The beautiful city of Ripon is around a 30 minute drive away. The historic Ripon Cathedral hosts a full calendar of events, Nearby National Trust Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal offer a lovely day out.
