The delightful village of Coneysthorpe on the Castle Howard Estate sits at the heart of the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfectly placed in rural North Yorkshire; the North York Moors National Park, Yorkshire Coast and medieval city of York are all easily accessible. Castle Howard, which is just a stone’s throw from the village, is one of Britain’s finest stately homes and was built in the 18th century by Sir John Vanbrugh. The nearby market town of Malton boasts an impressive array of independent food outlets, cafes, restaurants and shops with popular food markets taking place each month.

The Howardian Hills and North York Moors offer endless footpaths and bridleways and are popular with cyclists, walkers and nature lovers. The rugged Yorkshire Coast includes towns such as Whitby and Scarborough as well as smaller fishing villages including Sandsend and Robin Hood’s Bay, all within an hours drive. The city of York is just 15 miles away and offers many attractions including museums, galleries, river cruises, York Minster, the medieval walls and a huge variety of shop and restaurants.

Initial wood supply provided in baskets by the wood burning stoves.
There are some steps from patio area to grassed area in the rear garden, and a small step between sitting room and kitchen.

Day entry passes to Castle Howard valid for the day of your choice.

Coneysthorpe is a small village location sitting in the Castle Howard estate where the historic house of Castle Howard is located. A visit to the wonders of Castle Howard is a must for all those historic enthusiasts to see the ornate interior of the house along with the beautiful landscape gardens.

Only a short journey away is the historic roman walled city of York with charming independent local shops and eateries and the historic Cathedral,The York Minister.

Take a visit to the York Railway Museum for a great free family day out.

If it is seaside resorts or stretches of golden sandy beaches you are looking for the family to enjoy, the Yorkshire Coastline has lots to offer, including old fishing villages and traditional seaside resorts, with great Yorkshire hospitality and of course the best fish and chips around– Filey, Whitby, Staithes, Scarborough.
