Winterborne Houghton is situated in the Winterborne Valley amidst stunning countryside, and within easy reach of Blandford Forum which lies five miles to the east.

Walk up to Bulbarrow and enjoy amazing views across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire; further along the ridge you will find Okeford Hill with more fantastic views.

There are numerous quaint villages all around including Winterborne Stickland, Milton Abbas, and Okeford Fitzpaine.

The cottage is only 20 miles from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site where you will find some breath-taking scenery, beautiful beaches and fantastic walks.

Dorset has a plethora of Iron Age hillforts, and just a short drive or cycle away from the cottage you will find two to explore - Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill which face each other on the edge of Child Okeford.

Enjoy a day trip to iconic Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, where you will have much to enjoy for a memorable holiday.

The county town of Dorchester is approx a 25 minute drive away with its large selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and two cinemas - National Trust properties nearby include Max Gate, Hardy's Cottage and Clouds Hill.

Enjoy some great family time at Monkey World or the Tank Museum, at Bovington with its thrilling live displays.

The Isle of Purbeck, with Corfe Castle, Stoborough Heath, Studland and Swanage is perfect for a day out, exploring more of beautiful Dorset. The Swanage Railway offers a more intensive heritage steam and diesel timetable train service than virtually any other preserved railway, and is well worth a visit.
