The sitting room features a cosy wood burning stove and relaxed seating, the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring the local area and countryside, more french doors take you outside to the garden. From the sitting room, you will be drawn into the Oak Room, a delightful orangery with wonderful views across the garden and the Tanat Valley beyond. Upstairs both bedrooms enjoy the serenity of the location with more stunning views; the master bedroom features a king-size bed; and bedroom two has twin 3’ single beds. The modern family bathroom is also located upstairs. Outside, the impressive garden boasts yet more incredible views including fabulous views of the mountains behind the property. The garden has the perfect al-fresco dining area with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue.

Fron Cottage is the ideal base for an activities break away. Cyclists and thrill seekers will delight in the Revolution Bike Park, less than a mile away, where some of the finest downhill and freeride trails in the UK await – novices can take advantage of expert coaching and bikes can be hired. If water sports are more to your liking, beautiful Lake Vyrnwy and the impressive Bala Lake will not disappoint, with opportunities for kayaking, sailing and canoeing; and white water rafting adventures for the bravest! Walking opportunities are endless – both on the doorstep and a little further afield where Snowdonia National Park (approximately 25 miles) invites you to take on the climb to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Alternatively, take the Snowdon Mountain Railway steam train up (and down if you like) and enjoy the breath-taking scenery without the hard work. Not to forget fishing, gorge walking and pony trekking, it’s all here.

This lovely Llangynog cottage is perfect for a family holiday all year round and a short drive away is the neighbouring village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant where you can find a bigger selection of convenience stores, local pubs, restaurants, a quirky art gallery; and is home to the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall which, at 240 feet high, is the tallest single-drop waterfall in Britain and provides many walks to suit a variety of abilities.

From Fron Cottage you can enjoy superb walking routes and mountain bike trails exploring the magnificent Tanat Valley and the other surrounding mountains and hills.

Trips to Lake Bala aren't complete without visiting the Bala Lake Railway, a 9 mile round trip which journeys alongside Bala Lake, through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and all with stunning views of the lake, surrounding scenery and the nearby mountains of Arenig Fawr, Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy.

Water sports of all kinds can be enjoyed at Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy.

Take on the exhilarating downhill and freeride trails at Revolution Bike Park, less than a mile from Fron Cottage.

Situated towards the west coast is Snowdonia National Park, covering 823 square miles, there are uncountable stunning views across the diverse and dramatic landscapes.

From Fron Cottage you are within easy reach to some beautiful coastlines offering sandy shores, coastal paths, shingle beaches and delightful coastal towns.

Throughout Mid Wales there are a number of National Trust properties such as historic castles and gardens. This includes the delightful mediaeval Powys Castle, rich in history and grandeur. Afterwards be sure to take a lovely stroll around the delightful town of Powys with a range of independent shops, tea rooms and eateries.

The tallest waterfall in Wales Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfalls is just over 8 miles away, at 240ft high the waterfall is enchanting with many walks, a tea room with a waterfall view; and a great place to explore the Berwyn Mountains.
