This wonderful farmhouse is perfect for a larger group wanting to get together in luxurious surroundings. The house provides lots of space with a number of different sitting rooms and a large kitchen/dining space so you can all find you own space to relax in. With plenty of beautiful features, including the exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces, along with lots of updates, your stay is sure to be very comfortable. The large open-plan kitchen and dining space has a Rayburn which gives it a very cosy feel, while the sitting rooms each have their own wood burning stove. Upstairs, the five large bedrooms are stylishly furnished and the bathrooms provide restful sanctuary when you want to relax and take some time for yourself.

Outside are lovely gardens to explore where you may be lucky enough to spot the local wildlife including deer and owls.

Thornham Magna has a pub, The Four Horseshoes, just a ten minute walk away; and Thornham Walks are also nearby to enjoy more of the countryside and wildlife in the area. Grove Farm House is a welcoming home to return to, whether staying during the cooler months, or enjoying a Suffolk summer break.

About the area

Although the village of Thornham Magna is in a rural location it isn't far to a number of interesting places in the county so you have the best of both worlds. There are some lovely walks to explore the countryside if you head to Thornham Walks.

The nearby Waveney Valley is an unspoilt haven of wildlife, idyllic villages and unique market towns, perfect for exploring by bike or on foot. You’ll find plenty of friendly hospitality and character in places like Hoxne, Eye and Diss – for people who enjoy discovering hidden gems.

National Trust’s Ickworth House is a short drive away for those who would like to see this unique Italianate Palace and grounds. For a varied lively day out try Stonham Barns, where you’ll find Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, family golf park, vintage vehicles, teapot museum and pottery workshops, and shopping village – there really is something for all interests there.

Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding wool towns of Lavenham, Clare, Long Melford and Sudbury have some examples of stunning medieval architecture. There is lots going on in Bury St Edmunds with a busy programme of events and concerts at both The Apex and the Theatre Royal, the only working Regency playhouse in the country. If you want some peace and quiet while visiting the town, The Abbey Gardens provide a welcome relief from the bustle with stunning planting for both spring and summer. The villages with their picturesque streets and tea shops and cafes are wonderful places to explore
