About the area

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

North Kessock is an ancient ferry route between Inverness and the Black Isle. This ferry ran, for 700 years, up until 1982, when the Kessock Bridge opened. The village has buildings along the shore of Beauly Firth where a range of wildlife can be seen and heard. In North Kessock, a small marine Wildlife Research Base monitors dolphins and seals through sightings as well as underwater microphones. Pop in and have a listen!
