Accommodation Description

One Long Houses is a beautifully restored 18th-century farmhouse set within the peaceful Kentmere Valley, offering an exceptional Lake District retreat for families and friends. Sleeping up to 10 guests across five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the house combines original character with thoughtful contemporary design and an abundance of space to relax, socialise and unwind.

At the heart of the house is an impressive double-height barn-style living room, complete with exposed character, a gallery and wood-burner, alongside a cosy snug with its own open fire. The spectacular glass-walled dining room provides an unforgettable setting for long lunches and evening meals, with panoramic views across Kentmere and the surrounding fells. A spacious, beautifully equipped kitchen offers everything needed for relaxed self-catering, while two further wood-burners and an open fire create a wonderfully cosy atmosphere during cooler months.

The five bedrooms are individually styled, including three king or super-king rooms, a twin bedroom and the separate Workshop bedroom with its own en-suite, providing flexibility for families, couples and multi-generational groups. Two of the bedrooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms, with four bathrooms in total.

Outside, approximately an acre of enclosed garden provides plenty of space to enjoy the spectacular surroundings, with several seating areas, a large outdoor dining table and charcoal barbecue. The gardens look directly across the valley towards the fells, creating a wonderfully peaceful backdrop for morning coffee or an evening drink.

Walkers and outdoor enthusiasts can also take advantage of direct access to the surrounding fells, with the Kentmere Horseshoe and numerous other routes accessible from the doorstep.
