About the area

Thornham is an old smuggling village right on the North Norfolk Coast and now is one of the most popular villages to holiday for a short break or longer stay. Wide expanses of saltmarsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and bird watchers.

There are several great places to eat including Thornham Deli which sells all manner of local produce and great coffee, cake, breakfasts and lunches. The Lifeboat Inn, an old smuggling haunt complete with heavy beams and roaring fires is delightful at any time of year and The Orange Tree is a lovely gastro pub. Enjoy pizza and pasta at The Chequers. Call at the Deli before heading off to the beach for the day which is reached by walking over the sea defence and across the salt marshes.

You'll be rewarded by peace and quiet and a stunning sandy beach where you can escape from everyday life.
