The picturesque village of Embleton is a great starting point from which to explore the Heritage Coast of Northumberland. From the village to the neighbouring town of Craster, there is a lovely grassy path that follows the coast and passes by Dunstanburgh Castle, the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. There is a hotel and a pub in Embleton, and nearby Alnwick has even more to offer. Beautiful gardens can be viewed at Howick Hall during the summer months, and nearby Alnwick Castle and Garden are also popular tourist destinations. Dunstanburgh Links Course, just one of several excellent courses in the area, is less than two miles away.
