The Hayloft - Luxury Cottage In Herefordshire

Set in an attractive courtyard adjacent to a working farm on the North Herefordshire and South Shropshire border, The Hayloft has been tastefully converted, creating a unique, large studio, holiday let. The property is comfortable, cosy, completely self-contained and is separate from the main house so you will have complete privacy. The owners have beautifully renovated the property by carefully maintaining the exposed beams and brickwork, while creating a perfectly modern and stylish studio. You have your own access up external stairs to the first floor and there is plenty of parking space.

The Hayloft features a small, private terraced garden, perfect for outdoor dining. The owners’ farmland offers some lovely walks, fishing is available on the River Arrow at an additional charge and there is also a tennis court available on request via the owner.

Located in deep countryside which is ideal for avid walkers and cyclists, there is an array of country pubs and restaurants close by as well as numerous apple and cider distilleries. Within 2 miles there are also several supermarkets and local amenities. You can enjoy a short walk into the village where there is a working dairy producing and selling local, artisan cheeses. They also run a Tea Room where you can get an excellent coffee, proper leafed tea, homemade cakes and light lunches. There is also a pub in the village serving lunch and evening meals over the weekends. The property is also conveniently situated close to the Welsh border which offers some fantastic scenery especially Hay-on-Wye, the Breacon Beacons and the Shropshire Hills are all within easy reach by car.

Please note the steps to the entrance door are slightly uneven, there is a handrail.
Stays at The Hayloft are limited to weekends from Thursday to Monday. If you would like a longer stay please book The Hop Kiln sleeping four guests.

Approximately 10 miles away is the Cathedral City of Hereford featuring the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library exhibition house the oldest maps in the country and the largest collection of chained books. While you’re here, don’t miss the vibrant streets and shops of High Town.

Nearby is the historic, medieval town of Ludlow, dominated by Ludlow Castle that sits on a cliff looking over the River Teme. You could spend hours strolling through this historic town, make sure to work up an appetite - Ludlow is also a gastronome’s delight.

The beautiful market towns of Hay-on-Wye, Ledbury and Malvern are within an hour’s drive and are full of a fascinating range of independent shops, antique stores, delicatessens, café and restaurants.

The Hayloft is on the Black and White Trail which is characterised by the number of timbered and half-timbered houses in the area, leading through a rich landscape of orchards, hopyards and distant hills and taking in the most picturesque black and white villages

Croft Castle is an impressive stone manor house surrounded by a lovely park and near the beautiful Fishpool Valley.

Berrington Hall is a grand, neo-classical mansion set in landscaped grounds. Hergest Croft Gardens is a 70-acre landscape with some stunning views of the Black Mountains to the west. There are well over 5,000 rare plants, trees and shrubs here, making it a gardener’s paradise. Another attraction for garden lovers is Stockton Bury Gardens, with its water gardens and pigeon house.
