Trewalder - Luxury Coastal Cottage In The Cornwall

Trewalder is a stunning holiday home spilling out onto the beautiful Treyarnon Bay beach. It is the perfect location to explore the North Cornish coast with its beautiful beaches, spectacular walks, Michelin starred restaurants, award winning wineries, outstanding farm shops & cafes and abundance of outdoor pursuits.

Treyarnon Bay is renowned as one of North Cornwall’s most attractive beaches, it offers great surf, plenty of rock pools for children to play in and its own unique natural swimming pool carved into the rocks. Constantine and Booby’s Bays are just a five minute walk across the dramatic and beautiful headland. As are Porthcothan, Mother Ivy’s, Harlyn and Trevone Bays as well as the dramatic Trevose Head, all these bays are within easy walking distance via the South West Coast Path which passes Trewalders’ gate.

Trevose Golf Club with its links course overlooking Constantine and Booby’s Bays is a 3-minute drive from the house and Padstow with some of the best Michelin starred restaurants in the UK is only a 10-minute drive. There is also a small one-stop beach side shop just a stone throw away, as well as a cafe and food kiosk which are open during much of the main holiday season.

The breathtaking location is complemented by Trewalder’s generous accommodation. Four Bedrooms, three with en-suites & one with a family bathroom and two large balconies with panoramic views across the bay, perfect for a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set, or even a morning coffee to start the day. The spacious entrance lobby with its coat and boot rack leads into the large and cosy sitting room, with a separate snug area, where you can sit back and relax with beautiful views across the beach, or sit by the log burning stove in the colder, more cosy evenings.

The well equipped kitchen, which looks across the garden to the beach, leads into the dining area, a perfect sun trap with bi-folding doors onto the garden. Also, leading off from the kitchen is a well-equipped utility room, a separate cloakroom and a twin bedroom with en-suite. The stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find three bedrooms, two with en-suite and the third with a family bathroom, all the bedrooms lead out onto large balconies overlooking Treyarnon Bay.

Outside, apart from being 100 yards from the beach, it also has a large private garden, a spacious patio area and a great barbecue space, perfect for those sunny evenings after a long day spent at the beach or exploring. There is a large driveway with parking for up to four cars.

Trewalder is the perfect holiday home suited for large families or friends travelling together.

About the area

The picturesque fishing village of Padstow and its stunning harbour has so much for you to explore and discover. You are absolutely spoiled for choice with beaches in the area, a favourite being Trevone Bay Beach; perfect for exploring rock pools or for a gentle swim in its tidal pool. Drive a little further on and you will come across Harlyn Beach where you can book in for an unforgettable surf lesson. Those keen to do a little more exploring, be sure to check out the nearby coastal paths.

For a day exploring the local area pick up a bike from Padstow Cycle Hire and follow The Camel Trail. This largely traffic-free trail follows an old railway line with 12 miles of spectacular views of moorland, woodland and estuary and with it being largely flat it's ideal for families and less experienced cyclists.

Want to see marine conservation in action? The National Lobster Hatchery based in Padstow is an education and research charity set up to help conserve the vulnerable lobster populations and preserve the coastal marine bio-diversity in Cornwall. Spend a morning learning about these amazing creatures and the importance of sustainable fishing.

A trip to Padstow is not complete without a trip to Rick Stein’s; to try something different head over to his cookery school and learn to cook some of his signature dishes. There are many wonderful restaurants to try including Prawn on the Lawn, an award-winning seafood restaurant; as well as the Michelin Star awarded Paul Ainsworth at Number 6.

Over the last decade Tarquin’s has become one of the best Cornish gins on the market. Head to their gin school and take on a masterclass and learn all about how these delicious gins are made.
